PAATHAI (Personality Affirming Attitude, Transformation, Holistic Approach Intervention)
On 21.06.2024 Hon’ble Mrs. Geetha Jeevan, Minister of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment of Tamil Nadu announced the sanction of the Tamil Government for the PAATHAI project on the floor of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and PAATHAI was inaugurated on 11th November 2024 in the presence of Mrs. L. Shakila, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board, Mrs. Jayshree Muralidharan, IAS., Secretary to Government, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Mr. Johny Tom Varghese IAS, Director, Department of Children Welfare and Special Services and other dignitaries.

Target group: Young Petty First Time Offenders among Children in Conflict with Law.
Age: Under 18 years
Project Duration: 12 months
The Objective of the project is to formulate and establish systems and procedures for effective reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration into society of Juvenile Petty First Time Offenders.
Programme: Introduction of a child centric process with an integrated approach of various stakeholders like JJB, Police, State Career Guidance Centre etc through a psychological intervention sessions, counselling and life skills through sports during their stay in the Government Observation Home, Kellys to be followed by mentoring and support through Child Care Officers for a period of up to one year from date of release on bail, for effective reintegration into society.
